Two-row malt, meet Nelson Sauvin and Citra. Fast friends indeed. As sleek as a 9% DIPA can be with the sharp hop tone of lemon peels filled in by orange marmalade and just utter dankness. And you thought those tankers off-shore were just unloading crude...
2 pounds of dry hops per barrel. That’s right.

Previously 9%.

Light haze on this gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Palate is light and mildly dry and has a fine crispness. Smooth malts, lightly sweet with a nice amount of cream. Resinous piney hops and spicy orange. Bitterish orange peel. Little tangerine. It’s a smooth hop profile, but with muscle. Finishes semi dry with hop spice and peel bitterness lingering on. Nice one.

Bottle: Clean golden hue with good head and lace. Grapefruit pithy and piney earthliness on top of pale biscuity malts with a touch of wine notes from the Nelson Sauvin. Aggressive and brash even at a month old. Controlled dankness and minerally notes too. I think this is my favorite of the 4 hoppy brews from them so far. (Shockingly ’cause I am not a fan of the Nelson)

Bottle. Clear yellow pour with a white head. Grapefruit hop aromas. Big grapefruit hop notes dominate with citrusy undercurrents. Good balance with a sturdy malt backbone. Good mouthfeel. Solid.

Pour on tap at Boneyard, slightly hazy orange-red pour with thin white head, aroma brought notes of orange, grapefruit, pine into some caramel, toffee notes, slight floral hops as well. Taste was a mix of floral, pine, and orange, some grapefruit in there as well into a hint of spice, lots of caramel, toffee, finishing fairly bitter.

Bottle pour at home, brought this back from San Diego. Nice golden pour, hops and Barley aroma, decent bit and carbonation. The flavors really come out at the end with citrus and good hop flavor not overwhelming. I enjoyed trying this one.

Sample at the DIPA-festival in Hayward. A bit hazy dark golden with a white head. Fresh and hoppy with grapefruit, orange and some biscuits. The finish was bitter and dry.

Draft. Aroma of pine and tea. Flavor: Sweet. Honey. Lots of sweet, sweet honey, with a high-register, bit of milk chocolate finish.

22 oz bottle. Tasted on 1/30/15. Bottle from Holiday Wine Cellar. Aroma was floral, citrus, & just really dank. Taste was super hoppy with tons of bitterness to it. Loved it. Great DIPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
