4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle courtesy of DarthKostritzer. Cheers, Cory! Pours a pretty hazy copper color with an off-white head. Nose is nice caramel backbone to a guava, passionfruit, blood orange, apricot, kumquat, and pluot beer. Flavor is very assertive with guava, papaya, passion fruit up front followed by some nice caramel leading into mildly bitter finish. Medium in body and awesome overall.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Clear amber body. Fizzy, off-white head. Resin hop aroma along with caramel, raw grain, pine, orange. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and moderately to heavily bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, soft carbonation. A bit too much of the leafy hops and resin. But the balance is good for a double ipa. Thanks wnoble.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tasted on tap at the 13th Bistro Double IPA Festival on 2/9/2013. This double India Pale Ale pours a medium orange gold color from the tap. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, orange and citrus. A medium bodied Imperial IPA. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are citrusy and floral, with oranges. A touch on the fruity sweet side, but lots of hops. Decent carbonation. Medium bitterness. Lots of citrusy fruitiness. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours clear deep amber with a medium light beige creamy head that leaves nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is a citrus, pine, floral mix, with a note of caramel malt for balance. Faintest whiff of butter after the head is gone Flavor is light plus sweet, quite bitter, with the bitterness attacking up front and actually fading a bit on the finish. Caramel malt notes are present as well, but a lot of the hop aroma nuances are lost in the "bitter" signal to my tastebuds. Mouthfeel is creamy, medium bodied. Pretty nice effort, I just wish that the flavor held a little more hop taste profile and a little less bitter.

Bomber from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours translucent amber with a slight off-white head. Mixed resin/citrus aroma. Full bodied. Flavor is very brown sugar with a good dose of hop - but the malt seems to be in the ascendant. Despite that there’s hop burn - and I’m now ascribing that to floral resin. Finishes amazingly balanced - with lots of hop.
