UPDATED: MAR 5, 2004 I thought this was one of the best beers at GABF. Sticky hop taste balanced nicely with citrus flavor. Excellent.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: SEP 26, 2003 A double IPA from El Toro, this ale commits the sin of letting alcohol be it's main flavor. The hops are there more for bitterness than for flavor, it seems. Very heavy, barly-wineish body and mouthfeel. I don't know how this won best of show at the California brewer's festival over Stone IPA. Just okay.

Very slightly hazy. Light copper color. Grassy hop aroma. Some malt. Firm bitterness. It's technically a Double IPA but it's closer to the IPA side of the spectrum. Nice.
