3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 1FastSTi (3150) - Glendale, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 2, 2006GABF 2006. The beer pours to a golden body with a white head. The aroma is bitter leafy hops. The flavor is bitter hop oil, caramel malt, leafy hops. Overly raw bitter oiliness everywhere!

This is a very tasty IPA. Good hop flavor with a touch of sweetness which I really like

12oz bottle pours clear copper with a thin light tan head of foam. The modest aroma offers up sweetness and fruity notes like citrus hard candy and a dash of cherry candy. The aroma doesn’t deliver much hoppiness but the taste sure does. I get resiny bitter hops that start out pine sap like and then climb into grapefruit and orange peel. To midway it picks up off notes of sweet cherry esters as well as some biscuit malts. These last two notes pull the IIPA apart at the seams.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 alexanderj (3054) - Gilbert, Arizona, USA - MAR 26, 2013
Bottle; poured a dark orange/caramel color with a big frothy, off white head. Aroma of caramel, alcohol, and fruit. Flavor also was fairly malty; some nice sweetness. Some earthy and fruity hops. The earthiness lingers a bit. Fairly hot for the abv. Palate had a nice finish to it. Really just ok for the style.

People have been generous with this one. Copper pour with hints of burnt tangerine. Caramel, toffee, and honey forward. Way too sweet for the style. Bit of spicy evergreen and the ever so subtle citrus punch. Meh.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 mikedR (362) - Gilbert, Arizona, USA - MAR 19, 2013
If DFH120 is big brother, and Experimental Hop Henge is middle brother, this is little brother. Same syrupy, resiny notes as in those two brews, with the lowest ABV to boot. Nice grapefruit aroma. Bitter, but not especially so surprisingly. Good malty backbone, which the deep copper pour hints at. Among these 3, if you want a resiny IPA, it truly comes down to what ABV you want.

On tap at Toronado. Orange pour with a sticky white head. Aroma is citrus, grass, a bit bready. Good hop notes. Flavor is nice. Balanced with some nice hop character. Tropical fruits, citrus, grassy, a little resin. Pretty nice
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Bule (185) - California, USA - MAR 3, 2013
12oz bottle. A very full hop flavor, but seems a little too overpowering versus the lower alcohol content.

Amber in color with a white head. Sweet tropical fruit, sugar, and citrus notes. Some mango, pineapple, and grapefruit notes. A hint of booze, sweet caramel, and grass. Tastes of pineapple, mango, peach, and grapefruit. A bit of floral hops, very light pine, and plenty of caramel malt and sweetness.

Orange pour at GABF, white head. Aroma has some nice sticky malts and lotsof grassy and citrus hops. Flavor is sticky at times and hoppy at others. Pretty interesting brew. The hops peek in and out behind the malt bill.

Bottled. Poured a nice shade of sunset orange with a sticky off-white head. The aroma picked up warm, aged caramel and toffee malts with grapefruit and peppery notes around.. touches of butter and cardboard too.. I just got it, but it was definitely old. The flavor found the same story.. warm, aged malts (this time caramel, molasses, and a touch of licorice) with broken down hops (citrus and black pepper) around.. tacky right before the finish.. not bad, but not big enough to age for very long. Medium-bodied with a spotty flow through the palate.. a bit warm for the ABV.. I’d like to try it fresh sometime.
