Hop heads rejoice. This one has plenty of hops. Not really a doube IPA in my opinion, as it’s a bit thin and hoppy without quite enough malt balance. Still, I love hops and this one delivers plenty of them.

Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours copper with a creamy cream head. Aroma is pine and earth. Flavor has a kick in the mouth of piney hops.

On tap at Toronado. Hazy orange color, aroma of lots of citrus hops. Chewy, taste of more citrus hops and an unusual strong bitterness. I’ll be getting this again.

a nice strong ipa, very crisp bittering hops with a bit of citrus alongside a dash or two of malt, moderately heavy mouthfeel

Wow, this one’s a kick in the ass. Think powerful IIPA; clean palate; big shot of grapefruit hop on top. Kick ass. Holds up well even at Toronado.

Pours a light golden with little haze. Aroma is pineapple, mango and some sweetness. Taste follows with a huge sweetness that lingered. Very good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma: you can tell that this is going to be one hoppy beer, citrus almost to sour, and tons of hops; Appearnace: hazy tan, with maybe a bit of red, medium white head upon pour that quickly dissipates; Taste: very, very standout Imperial IPA, tastes just like it smells, a ton of hops, followed by fresh citrus, maybe I’m trying too hard, but I can pull out lemon, orange, and grapefruit, there’s also something else that stands out after a swallow, something almost nutty or bready; Palate: one of the most bitter but enjoyable beers I’ve ever had, its bitterness is on par with Sierra Nevada’s Torpedo IPA, but this one tastes better over all and has more to offer with all of those citrus notes, good carbonation; Overall: I think that this is more of a Double IPA than an Imperial IPA, nevertheless, I wish I had bought more than one, it is absolutely wonderful, one of the bettter IPAs I’ve had in a while

UPDATED: NOV 13, 2005 From the tap at the El Toro Brewery in Morgan Hill. Strong smell of hops, grapefruit and alcohol. Taste was very, very strong. Tasted of grapefruit and grapefruit pith. Long, long bitter aftertaste. Pretty good. Liked this better than the regular IPA.
