Sweet light fruits on the nose with a marked coffee roastiness and mild vanilla essence. Sweet and creamy, milky on the palate. Sweet fruitiness that quickly gives way to the nutty dry roasted bitterness. Has a mild touch of white russian in the aftertaste.

Dark Eclipse black color. Smallish head. Aroma is coffee and chocolate. A lighter bodied Oatmeal Sweet Stout. Roasted malts, chocolate and coffee flavors. Smooth and creamy. A little thin tasting for an Oatmeal Stout, but very tasty. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is creamy and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Bottle. Black color with a diminished brown head. A wonderful sweet chocolate and roast aroma. The flavor is initially sweet and light, moves to coffee roast, and finishes with chocolate.

UPDATED: OCT 26, 2007 My first Oatmeal Stout, and impressed I am. Dark chocolate aroma with the taste of strong black coffee. Very viscous creamy mouthfeel with a tiny hop-bite aftertaste after the chocolate/coffee taste subsides. Worht buying more of for sure... Thx User_Ex.

Black as an Oatmeal stout can be. Beautiful brown Imperial-like foam with well retained teeny bubbles. Huge roasty nose. Underlying coffee, chocolatae chip dough, and prunes. Hops are featured in the forefront here before very refined flavors of roasted coffee, oats, and licorice-like twang. Perfect palate with light creaminess, moderate carbonation, and roasty texture. Finishes with strong afternotes of coffee and chocolate truffles that linger until the next sip. The best Oatmeal Stout I have tried that was produced in the states. Thanks, user_ex!

Roast, roast, roast. With a bit of burnt thrown in. Very nice, but a little tiresome. Like a recording of Haddaway’s ’What Is Love’ that keeps skipping and repeating over and over, this beer’s roastiness, while enjoyable, is a one-hit wonder. There is marginal sweetness here.
