Bottle. It looks just nice in the glass, next to black and withouth sediments, and a tiny head. The aroma is sourish at first, with cocoa, sweetness, chocolate and some roasted malt following. It’s too sour in the mouth, with burnt malt and a little fruityness, and that continues into the finish. A bit thin body, but ok for a 5.5% ABV beer. I looks really nice and smells nice, but the rest of the beer isn’t special. Overall though, it’s a really good one. (080411)

Dark brown pour with a tan head. Licorice, roasted malt, hints of smoke, and an oatmeal richness to it. A decent chocolate note and some light vanilla sweetness. A little bit bland in terms of the flavor. Roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, and some nice oatmeal notes. Very mild vanilla-like sweetness.

Aroma of chocolate, toasted malt and coffee. Opaque dark brown color with a tan head. Tastes of chocolate, a bit of toasted malt, but very smooth. Coffee seems to be ever present. The mouthfeel is very firm, and the carbonation is reasonable. The finish is like the original Guiness, meaning toasty malt and some balancing hop. A treat.

Bottle poured an opaque black with reddish highlights and lasting brown head. Aromas of roasted malt, coffee, bitter chocolate and a hint of vanilla. Palate was light bodied and thin. Flavors of coffee, a bit of roastiness and some chocolate notes with a forgetable lightly roasty finish.
