3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 SirTom (87) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - MAR 17, 2004
Malty and spicy. Nice flavour for a lower % alcohol brew. I thought the % was much higher than 5.3, or it was just really good. Recommended.

12oz bottle, purchased at the brewery. Drank plenty of this in the last month or so; finally getting around to rating it. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a creamy, off-white head; fine-bubbled lacing. Cereal notes, light caramel, and a nice mineral and citrus bitterness on the perimeter, still allowing that malt character to show through. Medium body; moderate CO2; a really nice, toasty malt character comes through here, with modest accompanying notes of caramel and tea; lively in the mouth, with a soft surrounding of hops and a pleasantly dry, toasty finish. Just a delicious, hugely drinkable amber. Always happy to find this on tap or in bottles while traveling outside of North Bay.

Pours amber into the glass with a huge foamy light tan head. Aromao is malt. Very creamy on the palate. Taste is robust malts, oats and nuts with a mild hoppy note on the finish. A delightful ale which pairs well with burgers and brats off the grill.

Off the tap with one finger of head on a cloudy, dark straw colored body.
The aroma is citrusy and honey, pretty nice.
The taste is mildly sweet with a hop spicy middle.
It’s smooth with moderate carbonation.
Here’s a good beer with some unique flavors and still an everyday drinker.

Dark red amber. Subdued citric hop aroma. Relatively malty, clean, slightly spicy flavour, bitter finish. A very good beer that runs down far too easy leaving an empty bottle you wish would be full.
Thanks PsychProf for sedning me this beer!

Had this on tap while vacationing in San Francisco. Nice amber color, weak head. Malt aroma very evident, whiff of Cascade hops. Very decent malt taste, nice bitterness from the hops. Great drinking beer.

on tap. This is a terrific session beer. It has a medium body and a warm, almost comforting malt profile. There is a slight spiciness from the hops as well as pleasant floral aroma and clean bitterness. Smoothe, drinkable and tasty.

Bottle. Poured a dark orange brown with a thick lasting white head. Malty aroma, Malty flavour, but not as sweet as one would expect from the label. A lekker hop tinge and a lasting all over the tongue finish.

GABF. Orange pour, white head. Tropical fruit, toasted grain, honey and and some nutiness make up a pretty solid offering. The finish is lightly hoppy.
