COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is named after the Brewmaster’s father-in-law. It was formulated to make Bill’s "mainstream" pallet happy. Brewed with 50% wheat malt and lightly hopped William Jones Wheat Beer is smooth, light, crisp and refreshing. It is filtered for a clear honey colored pleasing appearance. Its carbonation level is moderately high for the "mainstream" appeal yet remains quite flavorful. Winner of the 1997 and 2006 Great American Beer Festival Gold and Silver Medals for American Wheat Beer.

Hazy straw yellow with a quickly fading rocky white head. Aroma of wheat, grain and honey. Taste of lemon, wheat and light malt. Highly carbonated with a dry finish.

Bottled, Brew 1265 according to the label. Poured hazy medium orange iwth a creamy, nicely-set cap of white head. The aroma picked up soft, toasty bread and honey malts topped by prickly wheat and orange zest.. tart and engaging.. surprisingly excellent! The flavor found honey and pale malts at the core.. peppery yeast, orange zest, and wheaty notes around.. spicy at the end. Lighter-bodied and tangy on the palate.. creamy carbonation supported the middle well.. spicy and memorable on the finish. Wow.. never saw this coming!

kramer (3457) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 27, 2009
12 oz bottle. Pours a slightly hazy gold body with a one finger fizzy white head that left some sparce lacing. Fairly light aroma with a bit too much diacetyl for my tastes. Some light wet hay and murky yeast. Too much diacetyl on the flavor as well, not too much else really. Some lightly tart wheat and light yeastiness. Light bodied with a slightly sticky buttery finish and moderate fizzy carbonation. Overall, this was pretty bad. A heavily flawed beer.

Bottle. Clear golden color with slight amber hue, thin broken white head. Light malt aroma with a slight floral cast and some wet grains. Taste is mild, even the wheat characters are pretty low-key. A mild brew.

12oz bottle. Orange tan with a slight haze. Well carbonated, decent accompanying head. Sweet malty tastes with some lemony wheat. Sugary malt aroma. A little bland, and not as refreshing as you might hope for in a wheat. Ok.

Pours a crystal clear golden with minimal head. Arome is sweet saspirilla (?) and a hint of wheat. Flavor is light clove, wheat and banana. Transparent mouthfeel, light sticky texture. Finishes somewhat more citric.

No, this is not as lame as the group average rating. Perhaps the lemons are following the bitter grudge miester.

12 oz bottle thanks to Jimmy. Dark pour with a cream white head. Well carbonated. Malty with lilttle hop presence. A bit chunky and skunky but a nice summer brew.

Picked up a single 12-oz bottle at Brennan’s Country Farm Market in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Pours a semi-hazy pale golden brew with a thin white head that quickly dissipates to a fine film and thin white ring. Aroma of light bready malt, some lemon zest and tart citrus hop character. Taste is light to medium bodied, light carbonation with some bready and lemon zest flavors. Finish is slightly tart with a multi-grain malt with wheat character in the after taste. Slightly off balance with more malt than citrus flavors but still drinkable.

Cloudy gold color. Smells like cereal. Flavor is a bitter lemon bite upfron with a lingering wheaties flavor. I could see this being a nice thirst quencher.
