COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed in celebration of our tenth anniversary of business. The inaugural first batch brewed was on March 21, 1994. X was brewed using ten different varieties of hops plus one other for good luck and has an a.b.v. of 10%. The style it was brewed is a strong double IPA which is Geno’s favorite style to brew. It was brewed on January 29, 2004, represented our 898th batch brewed and had a S.G. of 1.096.

This beer is so rich and complex it is unbelievable. Too bad it was a one off. I keep begging Geno the Brew Master to make more. It’s an IPA, Barley wine caramely, toasty sweetness, complex and balanced. Geno can balance a beer like no one else. Trust me this beer is perfect! But it will probably never be available again.

Shared at the Sept. Houston RB tasting. Muddy brown with a small head. Nose is boozy, musty. Taste is complex-sticky, boozy, spicy, sharp, peppery, hoppy. Overall a nice beer but not what I’d say is a double IPA. More of an old/strong ale. Nice beer that has held up well.

Shared by bleeng at the September Houston Tasting. Poured a muddy brown with a small bubbly head. Aroma is a touch of sour with wood, molasses, caramel and musty hops. Flavor is spicy (nutmeg and pepper) with floral hops and a smokey note as well. Palate is sweet and tangy with a flavorful finish...some heat. Well made and a good fall beer, but certainly not what I expect in a DIPA.

bottle thanks to bleeng. Shared at September Houston tasting. Poursw a muddy brown with an off-white head. nose is of malt, molasses and alcohol. This is a double IPA? Taste is of hops with pepper. Mouthfeel is medium and slightly sticky. Alcohol noticed.

Some mild fruits and big hops. hops are big from beginning to end. Light pepper and spice with a hint of residual sweetness. Lingering finish with good bitterness.

On tap @ Barclay’s--Rockridge. Deep amber body with medium tan head. Enough aroma hops to clear your sinuses. Flavor matched the nose with a rich sweetness well complemented by fruity spicy hops. Nice bitterness throughout. Some alcohol presence in the finish, but certainly not enough to give away the 10.5% ABV. No wonder they serve this in half pints. I hope that I can get some more of this.

Tap at Barclay’s Rockridge. Dark amber color with little head. Good balance of strong hops, malt, and rich body. Long finish.

Draft. Deep amber color with a deep rich head. Huge hops and a rich full flavor. It's thick, agressive, overpowering... a very nice beer.

Tap @ Barclay's in Jack London Square. What a treat. This was a big, sweet, creamy hop delight. Sweet fruits, bitter, and warming.
