Spina @ cantinetta.
Chiara con bella achiuma.
Amara, il malto è soverchiato dal luppolo, anche se un pelo di miele esce.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
330 ml bottle into pint glass, best before 10/2016. Pours lightly hazy pale golden color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of lemon, pear, apple, white grape, cracker, bread, herbal, straw, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice complexity and solid balance of earthy hops, pale malt, and fruity yeast ester notes; with good strength. A bit too fruity in the nose covering up the malt character, but not too bad. Taste of lemon, pear, white grape, cracker, bread, herbal, straw, grass, light pepper, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Fair amount of earthy/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, pear, white grape, cracker, bread, herbal, straw, grass, light pepper, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and robustness of earthy hops, pale malt, and fruity yeast ester flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and slightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with no warming present after the finish as expected of 4.5%. Overall this is a very good Kolsch style. All around good robustness and balance of earthy hops, pale malt, and fruity yeast ester flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from a shop in Bergamo airport (€ 4) in June 2014. Pours hazy, very pale gold with a mount of bright white head. Nose is clean, clear malts at first, then more hoppy - the Nelson Sauvin playing first fiddle with its acidic white whine character, and lemon water, unripe bananas, and something slightly vanillaish as the backing band. Really nice and summery. Taste is citrusy, sweet, malty, not exactly as delightful as the aroma. Light to medium body with soft carbonation, smooth, dry palate with a watery, only slightly bitter finish. Overall an enjoyable brew.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
In bottiglia.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle @ home from Tigros Supermarket. a dire il vero l’etichetta riporta golden ale, non Koelsch. Giallo dorata, velata, abbastanza fine e poco persistente. Fruttato agrumato, miele, malto e luppolo floreale all’aroma. Secca, ma non troppo amara. Maltata, ha una predominanza di floreale e miele. Poco corposa, non molto carbonata, equilibrata.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle: The aroma consists of citrus, fruit, light dust, and a touch of grass. It pours a mostly transparent gold with a touch of haze. It has a large creamy white head that leaves behind a lot of clumpy lacing. It doesn’t look quite as good as the Amber Ale, but I have to say that Birrificio Indipendente Elav seem to brew some nice looking beers. The flavor starts with a quick dose of citrus and a touch of honey. The finish has light-moderate grass, light cereal notes, and a touch of lemon peel. It’s light bodied with soft carbonation and mouthfeel. Overall, I’d say this is a pretty solid summer thirst quencher.
