[Bottle (11.2oz) shared with GregClow, jercraigs & mabel -- c/o j&m] Pours a very dark brown with a small fizzy light-brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, light leafy hops and chocolate. Flavour of roasted malt, light coffee & chocolate notes and a hint of a metallic twang in the slightly long bitter finish. Average bodied. I was expecting great due to the awesome name and label but it’s just good.

Pours a jet black with a thin off-white head. Aroma is roasted malts. Flavor is roast and something else, fruity. Has a thin body, some bitterness. Decent. One-dimensional for the style.

2015-07-30. Black body with a small tan head. 3++ Aroma is lightly tangy, dusty roast, dark malt. Flavour is similar, dusty dark malt, lightly tangy and bitter. Average plus to medium bodied palate, moderate carbonation. Decent and enjoyable but pales in comparison to the much bigger stout we just had. Bottle from Merchant’s Wine, Dearborn, MI.

Very special beer because of the dominant brandy taste that lasts til the end. Creamy, strong, coffee and cocoa. Spicy finish. Very nice.

@ Mondial de la Biere. Dark black, opaque, full tanned head. Aroma: Honey, esters, similar to a belgian style dubbel. Suprisingly not very roasty. Malty taste and some berries. Full body and fizzy.
