Heavy dark color and body. Nice smooth roasted aromas. Very balanced taste with a milky roasted aftertaste. Totally agree with RB. Its a very nice beer, but not quite in the Imperial Stout category.

Brilliant, thick, tan colour head. Coffee and cocoa in aroma. Nextly lactose, milk, grainy notes. Taste is smooth, dry, flat carbonation. Not so expanded but very well ballanced. It’s light model of RIS but so so tasty.

330 ml bottle into snifter, best before 7/2018. Pours pitch black color with a 1 finger dense tan head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, dark bread, molasses, raisin, pine, herbal, grass, light char, and herbal/roasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt and pine/earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, dark bread, molasses, raisin, pine, herbal, grass, light char, and herbal/roasted earthiness. Fair amount of pine/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, dark bread, molasses, raisin, pine, light char, and herbal/roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and robustness of dark/roasted malt and pine/earthy hops flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very smooth, moderately creamy, and lightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good imperial stout. All around good complexity, balance, and robustness of dark/roasted malt and pine/earthy hops flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A nicely enjoyable offering.

SlackerMads (1651) - Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 6, 2014
Bottle. Black with a medium sized slowly diminishing light brown head. Roasted malt, chocolate and cocoa in the nose. Has tar and burnt malts in the flavour too, some light sugar and earth, wood, mushroom, warming alcohol. Overall a bit unpolished and in-you-face but not without charm. Medium sweet, light/medium bitter, light acidic, soft on the palate but perhaps a bit thin, long light dry and bitter finish. Småkawt bryggeri.

Bottle. Black. Dark malty, licorice nose. Some sweets, but pretty roasty overall. Light oily body. Roasty ashy flavoured. Saltish licorice. For an impy, bit weak. Sure, has intensive roasty flavours, but just thrown together. I’d like more softness to it. Thought. Too dark tarry right now.

Deep dark brown, creamy espresso head that gives ok lacing. Sweet and bitter, salty licorice, french roast coffee, bit medical herbs. Oily feel, velvety, ash, sweet and bitter, light to medium body, long roasted finish. Tasty and nuanced, nice palate.

Countbeer (4539) - Best of E-Town mit ein Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - AUG 10, 2014
Bottle: Served in a Chouffe glass: Medium sized ashy light brown head on top of a black body. Aromas of roast, coffee, herbal and malt roast, pils malts, some liquorice, iron and some oatmeal. Flavours of coffee, malt roast, bitters, some raisin and roast, serious not much else... Aftertaste is a mix of bitters, coffee, malt roast, bit dry and herbal roast. Low carbo, watery mouthfeel, medium bodied and a light watery very light oily light dry texture. Thin imperial stout, not bad but quite thin.
