2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
330 ml bottle. Pours a black colour with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, some vegetables and wet earth. Flavour of roasted malts, rather strong sourness, grass, sweetness and grains. Medium bodied and high-ish carbonation. Soft but rather unbalanced. A bit dull and a bit off, I think.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours black with beige head. Aroma is roasted, licorice, vinous, dark chocolate and aromatic hops. Flavour is medium bitter, roasted malt and salted licorice. Delicious beer. Palate is slippery, oily and relatively thick but lightly carbonated. This one took me by surprise.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Thx! to Kraddel. 33 cl. bottle split. Black with a small mocha head. Smells of sweet mocha, coffee, sour grounds, liquorish, light roast, a bit mellow. Tastes of sour coffee, ashes, grounds, touch roast, liquorish, brown sugar, slightly b. Touch thinner than usual for the style. Not stellar but pretty nice and enjoyable. Better and definitely different from the Coal Ila BA version because there it was impossible to tell what the base beer was like.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Aroma has notes of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate and a little smoke. Nice. Black hue with a small tan head that mostly diminished and left little lace. Flavor is medium sweet and heavy bitter. Palate is medium/full bodied and watery with soft carbonation and a long bitter finish. Overall a tasty brew but the palate is too light.

UPDATED: MAR 12, 2014 Black, uneven bubbly foam, light smell, somehow sweet. Lot of coffee taste and some licorice, nice bitterness, a bit too watery for a stout. Not very balanced taste but still pleasant.

Bisogna gustarla fino in fondo, sorsata dopo sorsata e nothing else matters.
