Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. This is a hazy dark amber-brown beer with orange marmalade and tropical fruit flavours, spicy notes and a warming alcoholic kick to the finish.

Pours amber with tan head. Smell of light bitter. Tastes of bitter, hops, floral, and resin. Has lasting bitter on the tongue.

330 ml bottle.
Pours a murky copper colour with a white thick head. Aroma of sweet caramel, floral hops and quite nice herbal notes. Rich and sweet flavour of floral hops, heavy caramel, juicy fruitiness, strawberry jam, pear skin, tangy citrus and some peppery spiciness. Medium bodied, oily mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Long, warming, lingering bitter, rich, caramel finish. Alcohol comes through a bit too much. A DIPA on the sweet side.

Superbe couleur cuivrée. Quelques notes florales. Une bonne amertume en attaque qui persiste mais s’attenue, du sucre également, saveur de fruits de la passion. Très bonne imperial IPA.

Bottle from Nelson, South Wimbledon. Earthy honey nose, with medicinal flower nose and a hint of spruce. Slightly cloundy deep amber colour, with a fine offwhite rim. Taste is very sweet and honey flavour which very quickly turns utterly bitter and metallic with a heavy punch of alcohol in the end. Harsh and metallic, named aptly.

Bottle. Dark amber body with a ton of bubbles seemingly. Thick offwhite head which doesn’t want to budge. Tight bubbles. Nose is super hoppy, but really pleasant to sniff. Oranges, peaches, sherbert, marmalade, melon, a little grapefruit and lemon, teensy bit of toffee - could sniff it all day, but it was made for drinking so here goes... Oomph! Alcohol hit! It loses a vast amount of that promised fruitiness and goes for an alcohol and malt bite. There’s a hint of ashtray, a little marmalade, a hint of that promised fruitiness... but it all comes down to that alcohol burn and ashtray. A little disappointing after such a sniffable ale - maybe I need this a bit fresher to appreciate?

Dirty hazy amber body, white head. Aroma has quite a lot grapefruit, some clear caramel. Surprisingly clear aroma for the looks. Flavour has some harsh bitterness and alcohol. Some yeast. Quite a drop. Unbalanced.

Wasn’t sure what to expect from an Italian DIPA but I was pleasantly surprised. Strong hop aroma backed up with a good balance of malt, bitterness and back end hop funk. Not as heady as it’s US/UK counterparts but good all the same.

Draught at the Viisi Penniä, Helsinki, Finland. Murky amber colour with tiny head. Intense hoppy aroma of mandarin, exotic fruits and sweet strawberries. There's lots of sweet caramel maltiness there too. The flavour is very sweet but nice. There's toffee, strawberry, some berry desert, sweet maltiness, strong hoppiness and mild bitterness in the flavour. Very balanced. Tasty indeed. I'm really surprised that I really can enjoy a sweet IPA with strawberry notes in it. Bitterness in the aftertaste. Tasty as mentioned earlier. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
