3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
330 ml bottle.
Pours a murky copper colour with a white thick head. Aroma of sweet caramel, floral hops and quite nice herbal notes. Rich and sweet flavour of floral hops, heavy caramel, juicy fruitiness, strawberry jam, pear skin, tangy citrus and some peppery spiciness. Medium bodied, oily mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Long, warming, lingering bitter, rich, caramel finish. Alcohol comes through a bit too much. A DIPA on the sweet side.

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Superbe couleur cuivrée. Quelques notes florales. Une bonne amertume en attaque qui persiste mais s’attenue, du sucre également, saveur de fruits de la passion. Très bonne imperial IPA.

3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Nelson, South Wimbledon. Earthy honey nose, with medicinal flower nose and a hint of spruce. Slightly cloundy deep amber colour, with a fine offwhite rim.
Taste is very sweet and honey flavour which very quickly turns utterly bitter and metallic with a heavy punch of alcohol in the end.
Harsh and metallic, named aptly.

3.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Dark amber body with a ton of bubbles seemingly. Thick offwhite head which doesn’t want to budge. Tight bubbles. Nose is super hoppy, but really pleasant to sniff. Oranges, peaches, sherbert, marmalade, melon, a little grapefruit and lemon, teensy bit of toffee - could sniff it all day, but it was made for drinking so here goes... Oomph! Alcohol hit! It loses a vast amount of that promised fruitiness and goes for an alcohol and malt bite. There’s a hint of ashtray, a little marmalade, a hint of that promised fruitiness... but it all comes down to that alcohol burn and ashtray. A little disappointing after such a sniffable ale - maybe I need this a bit fresher to appreciate?
