Dark color, very poor head, disappearing quickly. Malty and yeasty aroma. The body is too thin, no malt, light roasted malt, some yeast, some sugars, very light liquorice. A quite bad homebrew, malt extracts?

As a previous rater said and as can be seen in the overall ratings this is the best EleganT beer by far. Dark, molasses, little coffee, warming great winter beer. Foamed somewhat out of a duvel-type bottle (not as show on the picture). Bottle from De Bierwinkel in Leiden.

UPDATED: MAY 30, 2011 Dark brown body with a large brown head. Aroma is very yeasty with caramel and hay. More foamy in the mouth than usual with these dark beers, but there is an interesting taste to it. Clearly leans on its malts, which makes the beer one sided but definitely interesting. Best of this brewer. (1,75 EUR, 33cl bottle)

330 ml bottle @ Gastropub Tuulensuu.
Pours a dark brown colour with a brownish head. Aroma of nuts, toasted malts and syrup. Flavour of toasted malts, licorice, syrup, nuts and dried fruits. Medium bodied with a thick mouthfeel. Not bad.

Near black colored with medium sized beige head. Hopped and slightly rubbery aroma, licorice also strongly here. Medium bodied. Flavor is also licoricy with thin rubber, yeast and chocolate here as well. Aftertaste dries.

Bottled@Tuulensuu, Tampere. Deep ambery brown colour, small beigeish brown head. Aroma is fruits, mild spices, some caramel as well as some slight alcoholic sweetness. Flavour is being quite much the same. Also some spices and mild raisins in the aftertaste.

Bottled. A dark brown beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel as well as a light note of oxidation. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, oxidation, and caramel.

UPDATED: JAN 31, 2010 Dark brown colour, strong lasting foamy head, which turns to mush. Slightly fresh scent, some hops, some orange, lightly smoked with some yeast. Strong yet easy to drink, slight hint of caramel.

Dark brown with a very large foamy head. Faint aroma of coffee, caramel, dark malts and a bit sterile. Taste of coffee, hops, raisins and dark malt, bitter and sour. Has a medium sour finish. Very enjoyable. The best from EleganT.

Clear dark red brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, roasted, burnt, chocolate, dusty, chemical, brown sugar notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20090404]

Dark brown with red glimts and a medium beige head. Sweet aroma with caramel and roasted malt. Flavour was sweet with roasted malt, caramel and hints of chocolate and honey.
