2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle pour into pint glass. Appearance is medium brown with finger-width beige head with decent retention and lacing. Aroma is strong oak. Taste is strong oak--hard to get anything else. Palate is light bodied with thin texture and average to lively carbonation with oaky finish. Overall, the oak dominates this to the exclusion of other aromas/flavors.

A hazed dark amber ale with a thick frothy lacing light mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with light nutty notes, light grassy hops, treacle, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity caramel malt with smooth herbal hops, grapefruit pulp, light pine needles, nice and smooth.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sampled at Northgate Tasting. Malty, woody, not really that bad, but nothing special. Definitely not worth the price per oz... way overpriced for a new MN distro brewery.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
"Nice bottle presentation (no labeling at all on the 750, but paper wrapped). Nice light chestnut color, but we all take issue with the "lighter carbonation" claim in the description. Not this bottle. Tons of head and a prickly feel, which did not work for this beer. Malty, with a vanilla oak flavor, maybe a hint of dyacetl (spelling?). Not a favorite, and I’m guessing the 750 ain;t cheap."

I had this yesterday so I get describe it well enough. But I can say for certain that is was just okay. I prefer their red giant or dark element a lot more.
