Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orange amber with a bubbly tan head that lasts throughout the beer and laced slightly. Aroma has a good amount of oak with some sweet grains and a bit of grassy and earthy hops. Flavor starts with some sweet grains and vanilla with a good amount of oak and a bit of earthiness.

Sampled at an ESBLS tasting. I get all kinds of fruit in this beer. Just all over the place. Sticky stuff. Raisin is prominent with vanilla from wood. Some bread and nuts. It smoothed out with some tannins. I like it.

750ml Bottle: Faint aroma of malt, nuts, slight toasting, and slight Earth. Poured orange/brown in color with a small, creamy, dense, tan head that lasted throughout. Cloudy. Very sparkling. Full of tiny and small particles throughout. Flavor is slightly sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of malt, slight hops, light nuts, and slight oak. Really not much flavor at all. Medium body. Lightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Malt finish.

Pours deep amber into an English pint. Off-white conglomerate head recedes to foam surface leaving no lacing. Toasted nut and oak aromas. Sweet caramel, bread and toast upfront turning to slightly sour oak and resin in the lasting hot finish.

Interesting take on an ESB. The oak-aging lends a smokiness to the taste which seems a bit out of character but certainly not unappealing. Good beer, high-priced.

Nothing special. Decent brown ale with nice nutty and vanilla flavors, but no better than a Newcastle.

Bottle… Clear amber ale with a small, fizzy, off-white head. Decent retention. The spicy, earthy bouquet is rye-like, but a touch medicinal. Medium-bodied and very effervescent. The flavor leans slightly toward the bitter side of balance and offers spicy grains. Crisp, moderately bitter finish. Bottle courtesy of growler!

750 c&c from cakanator. The guy who covers Element. Pours dark copper with a foamy 3 finger off-white head. Slightly musty floral aroma. Medium plus body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is oaked. Fresh floral hop over light toasted malt. The spiceyness of oak permeates. Not getting bourbon or scotch or that sort of thing. ESB heading for English Olde Ale. Or Strong ale. It is exceedingly tasty. Mellow.

Draft at the American Craft Beer Fest in Boston. Pours a translucent brown. I liked it, felt like it had the roasty flavors of a darker beer with a much lighter body.
