COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Dunkel Wheat Wine brewed with Element’s house yeast, local maple syrup, and Pioneer Valley grown and malted organic wheat, uses a generous dose of Pacific Northwest hops (Summit) to infuse crisp citrus flavors into Element’s spring offering.

A hazed dark amber Barley Wine with a thin light mocha head. In aroma, beautiful sweet fruity caramel malt with light vinous notes, treacle, light vanilla, alcohol warmth, very nice and smooth. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity caramel malt with light grassy floral hops, resinous and smooth, vinous character, alcohol warmth, very nice for its age. Bottled on March 4, 2011.

750 ml bottle purchased at Table and Vine, West Spring field. Bottled on 10 March 2014. Amber orange in color without head. Aroma is earthy malts, (like dried leaves), toffee, weak dark fruit and alcohol.

Flavor has dark fruit through the center with a sticky / syrupy texture. The maple syrup just comes off as sugar. Booze is still pretty obvious giving a warm sensation after the swallow. Body is medium with the carbonation starting to slip away.

Bottle pour into tulip glass. Born on date 3/14. Aroma is strong caramel, hints of alcohol. Appearance is brownish like apple cider with no real head to speak of and a little bit of transient lacing. Taste is sweet malty caramel bready/toast which mellowed with breathing--initially had a burn like isopropyl alcohol (I think this was too old). Palate medium bodied with average to thick texture with soft carbonation. Long caramel sweet alcohol finish. Overall, I think this aged too long so probably not a true reflection.

Pours mahogany into a tulip. Conglomerate pancake head with good retention recedes leaving spider lacing to coat surface. Chocolate and pumpernickel aromas. Thick and boozy with sweet maple and toasted bread upfront turning to chocolate milk before the lasting resin finish.

Brown bottle, 1 pint 9 ounces, 524 of 564, bottled on March 4 2012, purchased at the Boston Beer Exchange on April 16 2011, savoured on April 30 2011; eye: mahogany with a caramel hue, lightly hazy, no effervescence, beige head that disappears completely, no lacing; nose: wheat, malt, alcohol, light maple syrup, light floral hops; mouth: malt, maple syrup, caramel, light alcohol, finale in malt with presence of floral hops and maple syrup, medium-full body, good carbonation, slightly bitter, mildly sweet, lightly liqueur-like texture; overall: quite good FRANÇAIS Bouteille brune, 1 pinte 9 onces, 524 de 564, embouteillée le 4 mars 2011, achetée au Boston Beer Exchange le 16 avril 2011, savourée le 30 avril 2011; œil : acajou avec une teinte caramel, légèrement voilée, pas d’effervescence, mousse beige qui disparaît complètement, pas de dentelle; nez : blé, malt, alcool, léger sirop d’érable, léger houblon floral; bouche : malt, sirop d’érable, caramel, léger alcool, finale en malt avec présence de houblon floral et sirop d’érable, corps moyen-corsé, bonne carbonatation, très légèrement amère, moyennement sucrée, texture légèrement liquoreuse; en résumé : bien bon
