COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Deep ruby in color, Red Giant contains caramel malt sweetness combined with significant hop bitterness and leathery aroma, resulting in a balanced flavor profile. Not a singular beer, Red Giant’s complexity offers a new flavor with every sip.

Bottle. High creamy and long lasting off-white head. Hazy dark ruby body. Lovely sweet aroma of raspberries, cocoa and caramel. Flavor also very sweet roasted malt caramel cocoa but it has a fruity fresh hint that I cannot really figure out. Good though. Low carbonation. Long and a bit dustry sweet aftertaste. Not much bitterness but its there. Very well balanced beer with the alcohol well hidden by the sweetness. Nice surprise. And then in a huge bottle. I won’t share it with anybody!

Bottled@Black Heart (rockpub around the corner from Brewdog Camden). After ordering all the big abv bottles at Brewdog Camden, it was probably the perfect thing to go and order a big bottle of beer in this cosy pub... Reddish brown colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is leathery, sour wooden, with some sweet malts and mild earthy notes. Flavour is rather similar in good balance. My notes have a few more sentences added by the end of the bottle, but the coding is too hard for me to interpret...

VTHopHead (1387) - Barre, Vermont, USA - MAR 30, 2012
Bottle/750ml - Pours a nice ruby-amber in color with a big foamy light tan head that held on to produce some decent lacing on the glass. Aroma has some caramel malt and some floral hops. Flavor matches the same with the addition of some medium hop bitterness. Not as flavorful as I had hoped. OK, a fair amber ale, but too expensive for what it is...

Draft. Pours red amber with an off white head. Toasty and sweet malty aroma, with floral hops. The flavor has floral and herbal hops, sweet malts and some toasty malts as well. Not bad.

This beer is amber with an off-white head. A decently hoppy aroma; mostly floral in nature with a few herbal and pine notes. Fairly sweet as well with toffee and bread. The flavor is much more bitter than I had expected. Not a ton of hop flavor, but some pine and a bit of an herbal note. The typical toffee and bread sweetness is present as well.

My first beer from this brewery! Clear ruby color, steady off-white head, lace. Light caramelly nose is also berryish. Medium-bodied. Feels lighter than 8 %. Caramel, some alcohol, sticky hoppyness. Lingering, a bit harsh and bitter aftertaste.

I had high hopes for this beer as I heard many good things.. however it fell a bit flat for me, especially given the competition in this price range ($14-16). It is a middle of the road amber ale.
