2013 bottle. Pours a deep dark brown with a large foamy tan head that lingers. Huge aroma, sweet and woody, of brown sugar, malt, caramel, oak, bourbon, dark fruits. Big taste, woody bourbon, almost sour dark fruits, malt, caramel. Lingering bourbon and sour cherries that finishes a little watery. Very interesting quad, well-balanced.

750ml next to Boulevard BBQ and River North B’Side. This was the winner. Sweet dark fruit with a great backing of oak and bourbon character. Very smooth and distinctive with a little hint of tart pucker at the back end. Wonderful beer.

Semi-sweet, full bodied, mid bitterness, balanced CO2. Fruity, phenolic, spicy taste, cherries, vanilla, cloves, caramel, dark fruit. Quit complex. (2013-10-07)
