COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
First Cast pours a hazy gold, with soft orange hues and white fluffy head that sits on its peak like the snow on the 14,000-foot mountains that are the backdrop to our microbrewery. Aromas of grapefruit, pine, and citrus hops as well as hints of caramel and fresh bread from our locally grown malt invade the senses. The beer hits with a smooth hop bitterness that tingles across the tongue with a lingering bite of mountain pine, grapefruit and fresh citrus notes. This beer is designed as an everyday brew for the craft beer aficionado, with a medium body and a high carbonation to refresh the palate.

Pours a medium golden with bubbles rushing to the top. Large white head that sits atop the glass like snow capped mountain. Aroma of pine and green hay with a bit of honey. Flavor is straight up hops. Not overpowering, but pretty bitter without a lot of other flavor to cut it. Less crisp than some beers with a bit of grain flavor that muddles the hop flavor a bit rather than letting the hops pierce the mouth like an arrow. Definitely an interesting beer and not bad to drink but it seems like things just aren’t working together quite right.

This gold IPA is wonderfully balanced with a nice medley of sweet and rich malts offset by some nicely piney aromatic hops. Seems more like a traditional english IPA with smooth flavor, balance and medium body and color. Affordable enough for everyday drinking as well!

16 oz bottle split up. Happy for that since I wouldn’t want to drink a full pint of this... Very hazy orange pour with a soapy head and very little lacing. Not sure of the packaging date, but it’s pretty damn oxidized. The caramel sweetness of hop death flows through this beer. On top of that, onion is very apparent, most likely from the Summit hops, and to top it all off, there’s a fair amount of diacetyl. Pretty messy. Lemme try it fresher.

(500ml bottle) clear medium gold, fine offwhite bubbles. Nose of candied citrus, kind of bland, fragrant, neat citrus smells. Taste of onion, very bitter grapefruit, watery, meaty, buttery palate finish.

Tap @ Epic Beer Fest Denver 2013. Pours a fairly clear orange appearance with an off white head. Fairly herbal, light grapefruit citrusy, grassy/woody hoppy aroma with some caramel. Mildly toasted caramel malty, somewhat spicy, a bit bready, light citrusy flavor. Not all that exciting or fulfilling.
