COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
First Cast pours a hazy gold, with soft orange hues and white fluffy head that sits on its peak like the snow on the 14,000-foot mountains that are the backdrop to our microbrewery. Aromas of grapefruit, pine, and citrus hops as well as hints of caramel and fresh bread from our locally grown malt invade the senses. The beer hits with a smooth hop bitterness that tingles across the tongue with a lingering bite of mountain pine, grapefruit and fresh citrus notes. This beer is designed as an everyday brew for the craft beer aficionado, with a medium body and a high carbonation to refresh the palate.

Tap @ Epic Beer Fest Denver 2013. Pours a fairly clear orange appearance with an off white head. Fairly herbal, light grapefruit citrusy, grassy/woody hoppy aroma with some caramel. Mildly toasted caramel malty, somewhat spicy, a bit bready, light citrusy flavor. Not all that exciting or fulfilling.

500ml bottle. loud pop of the cap with carbonation frothing up to the top. mostly clear amber colored body with a small off-white head. resin-bomb of a nose: pine needles, reduced orange caramel syrup, a bit of shallot / onion / urine, not something I find pleasant. medium body, creamy and soft carbonation. the malt is nicely creamy and soft but it’s impossible to enjoy given the brash, brutish bitterness and mold / moss / tea-leaf flavor that screams Chinook.

Pour on tap at the Denver Summer Brew Fest, hazy orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, spice, yeast, some nice pine and grass notes, slight orange peel but pretty clean hop notes. Taste is a mix of pine and bright orange notes, some slight lemon, going into caramel, toffee, slight spice, finishing fairly bitter, dry.

(500ml bottle) clear medium gold, fine offwhite bubbles. Nose of candied citrus, kind of bland, fragrant, neat citrus smells. Taste of onion, very bitter grapefruit, watery, meaty, buttery palate finish.
