on tap poured into a pint glass a: amber color, slight lacing cap. decent amount of carbonation visible. s: citrus hop, light and slightly caramalized malt t: pretty well balanced citrus hop and light pale malt. I do notice a chalkyness that I have tasted in other beers here. I think some oxygenaztion is present. m&d: light to medium bodied, well carbonated. Decent APA, but I’d expect this quality from a homebrewer not a brewpub.

July 17-19, 2008: The aroma of Elevator Bear Ass Pale Ale has light cedar and the flavor has a light amount of hops. It has a hazy, deep golden appearance with an off-white crown. Overall this beer is balanced, but somewhat grainy for the style.

Draught sample at The CI in Athens, Ohio during Ohio Brew Week 2008. Rating #27 for this beer.

Pours a amber color with a thin white head. Taste of hops however not real overpowing. A good pale ale but not great

On tap at Elevator. Clear amber pour with a medium off-white head. Hop and malt balance in the aroma, but not much aroma there. I was sniffing so hard I nearly passed out. Crisp hop flavor up front with a malt balance and bitter finish. Pretty average.

On tap at brewpub. Pours amber with white/off white head. Aroma is citrus hops, but not overwhelming. Flavor is sweet underneath with medium hop bitterness throughout. Not much special here.

Objectively speaking: A sweet pale that that tries to do a little of everything.
I like: Fairly bitter and lasting finish. Appealing spicy yeast undertones. Healthy white foam covers the hazy light orange.
I dislike: Lack of focus. A little bit of spice, a little bit of orange, a little bit of hops and a lot of sweetness. Not totally balanced and with a bit of grainy sourness which I disliked - fruits and grain husk.

Orange pour with a tight head and lace. Light citrus aroma. Medium malt and a medium bitter as well. A slightly foamy medium bodied beer.
