3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark cloudy orange/amber color with small white head and moderate lacing. Aroma has strong vanilla and whiskey. Flavor has intense whiskey, with caramel malts and bit of an alcohol tingle. Good overall, maybe a little unbalanced, but great price for barrel aged beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle... Light hazy, burnt-orange pour with a large, fizzy, off-white head. Fantastic, creamy retention. The bouquet furnishes toasty and caramely malts, fruity cherries and other berries and subtle components of both musty funk and damp wood. Medium-bodied with sleepy carbonation. The flavor offers thin, fruity tanginess up front; followed by tannic, earthy, mid-level bitterness on the backside. Finishes sandpapery, bitter and Sahara-dry. The dawn of an infection has thinned this out, tarted it up and eaten away at the malts to the point where itís more bitter than tangy or sweet. The bug has also removed nearly all of the woodiness and whiskey I was expecting. I have attempted to discard my notion that this is infected and tried to rate it on a scale that factors-in nothing other than my hedonic enjoyment. Going in blindly, without knowing the style of the base beer, a 3.6 is about where it would land. Enjoyable. Bottle courtesy of FlandersNed!

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle purchased at Celebrate Local. Clear amber pour with a medium off-white head. Aroma consists of bourbon, citrus, berry and caramel. Flavor also starts with bourbon with vanilla and oak accents moving to an orange character before a boozy finish.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz bottle. Pours a murky red-brown body. Off-white head quickly dissipates. At first sip, Iím pretty confident in saying that this is my least favorite in the "goat" series so far. The malts arenít really thick enough to hold up. Sweet cherry amber malt tones are not my thing in the first place, and they are sort of redundant with the whiskey barrels tones. On the other hand, there is some rich leathery depth, and it is fun and unique. The malts finish light and sweet, the barrel finishes heavy and rich. Odd, worth a try.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Columbus bottle from Andersonís. Murky orange, brown color with a small white head and spotty lacing. Aroma that I swear is like sweetened Jack Daniels. Flavor has a quick hit of banana and then goes straight into a whiskey and wine mixed up taste plus a little vanilla. Finish is dry with tannin. Certainly interesting but not my favorite.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This is the July selection in Elevatorís "PHD" program. The beer pours a dark copper-amber color with a thin off-white head that dissipates to a wispy film quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of sweet malt and bourbon. Medium-bodied with flavors of sweet caramel malt and subtle oaky bourbon and a hint of hops. The finish is malty with an oaky aftertaste. Decent barrel aged version of Bleeding Buckeye overall.

1.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20
12oz bottle pours a clear, copper with some clumpy, white head. Smells like Jameson, just tons of whiskey, malt, cheap rotting coconut meat. Flavor is like rusty razors, tons of booze, cream soda, coconut, vanilla. Boozy finish.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 ounce bottle. Served in a nonic pint glass, the beer pours a reddish/copper color with about an inch and a half off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both good. The brew smells like whiskey, along with some sweet and caramel malt. I think the taste is just the like aroma, the brew mostly tastes like whiskey, along with some caramel and sweet malt. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, itís a bit slick and has good carbonation. I liked this brew, I think itís definitely worth trying. Iíd buy it again in the future. $9.99 a 4-pack.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Malt and whiskey aromas. Brown bodied with lots of tan foam. Very smooth mouthfeel, a good blend of whiskey and a bitter hoppy show at the finish.
Bottle from late 2012 from FlandersRed.
