Taster on tap at Casa. Kind of an unnerving name. Clear orange-red brown color. Little off-white head. Loose lace. Light bitter taste. Medium body. Crisp carbonation. Kind of a light bite in the texture, slight metallic. Nutty flavor, light hint of chocolate, earthy bitter hop. OK. Not great. Not much to it.

Pours a medium darker gold, aroma is malty and earthy with some dark fruit. Flavor is jut like it smells very malty backbone with some earthy tones and a nice hop balance and there is some fruity yeast character. Over all it’s pretty tasty , the mrs approves

On tap at restaurant. Good medium brown color and good initial mouthfeel. Very smooth and balanced. Rarely have I had nut taste in my mouth and been so pleased.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy amber with a tiny eggshell white head. Aroma of toasted malts, leaves, earth, and a bit of brown sugar. Flavor mostly follows suit, with leafy hops, coffee, toasted malts, tobacco, and earth. Medium-bodied, with medium carbonation and a toasty mouthfeel. Decent brown ale.

Crushed at GABF ’10. Had to sample this strictly because of the name. Meh. Not much going here. A little nutty, kinda roasty. Kinda gritty mouthfeel. Worth trying.

Pours a nice brown color. Taste nutty with some honey and caremel. Not the best brown ale that I have had.

Objectively speaking:
A brown ale with very strong honeyed influences.
I like:
Pleasant hazelnutty undertones, but dominated by very sweet honey.
I dislike:
Rather pale for a brown ale, certainly could not catch any roastiness. Sweet example, very sweet even, to the point that it’s rather hard to drink and the very low carbonation does not help, giving it a syrupy texture despite the generalized thinness. Tastes a bit underfermented.
