Glass at Elevator as part of the PhD program. Clear brown pour with a medium beige head. Aroma of banana, caramel, honey and a bit of spice. Super sugary flavor with banana, apple and honey in the finish. Not syrupy sweet, but definitely crazy sugary sweet. Very difficult to finish a glass, and I had to finish two because I dragged my brother there and he refused to finish his and I can’t let beer go to waste.

Poured dark reddish brown with an average fizzy light brown head that mostly dimished with little lacing. Moderate toasted malt, nutty and dark honey aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy sweet flavor with a medium to heavysweet finish of moderate duration. This is a one of a kind beer.

Extremely sweet tasting beer with very low drinkability. I think I would pass on this one if offered again. Draft at brewpub as part of the PHD program

UPDATED: SEP 2, 2010 On draught at the brewpub, this is the August selection in Elevator’s "PHD" program. The beer is a slightly hazy mahogany-amber color with a medium creamy off-white head that recedes steadily. Sticky rings of lacing on the glass. Sweet malt and honey in the nose. Medium body with a syrupy sweet caramel malt character made even sweeter with the honey. Touches of fruit offset the sweetness. The finish is sweet with a malt aftertaste. Does not go too far overboard, but it could use some more balance. Slightly above average overall.
