shigadeyo (1360), Southwest Ohio Area, Ohio, USA Aug 2, 2007 7/19/2007: Elevator XTRA Kölsch is a pretty mild Vienna-style Lager. It’s color is light amber and there is a bit of toasted malt in the aroma and flavor. The hoppiness is quite subtle and just barely enough to give the beer a slightly spicy hop flavor and mild bitterness. Drinkable, but not great.
Draught at the The Smiling Skull Saloon during the Ohio Brew Week in Athens, Ohio. Rating #1 for this beer...

Clear yet deep, ruby-tinted-amber with an off-white head that re-emerges upon swirling. Sweet roasty grains (probably the most aromatic of today’s brews) with defined lagering yeasts behind. Light dirtiness to the flavor (earthen) of sweet malts against rye bitterness. Roasts linger. Steady body carries flavor a long while. Well done.

dkoonce (741), People’s Republic of Athens, Ohio, USA Jul 20, 2007 Sampled at Ohio Brew week in Athens. Listed as Hubris - Vienna Style lager. Malty aroma, that seems sweet and smoky. Tastes like smoked peat. A bit thin and sour. ultraspank (856), Dublin, Ohio, USA Jun 18, 2007 Comp from the Bartender. Nose of chocolate & dried fruit, toast, and smoke. The brew is a ruby copper. The tall beige head is mostly lasting and leaves light lace. The huge toasty flavor is slightly sweet & roasted. The finish is long and subtly smokey. The medium soft body is creamy. Very interesting. Darkover (1198), Columbus, Ohio, USA Apr 18, 2007 Amber color with a small beige head. Toasted malt aroma. Malty flavor with a slight amount of bitterness.
