On draught at the brewpub, this is the April selection in Elevator’s "PHD" program. The beer is flat black with a thin, creamy and dense tan head that burns away slowly. Sheet of lacing on the glass. Mildly roasted malt and coffee aroma. Medium, smooth body with flavors of roasted coffee, sweet malt and some chocolate. The finish is a little thin with a roasty sweet malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

Pours a chocolate brown with a thick tan head. Nice malty taste with a sweet finish. An extremly drinkable beer. Love this one. Pint draft as part of the Brewpubs PHD program.

April selection for the PHD program. Pours black with a medium beige head. Roasty aroma almost like a dry Irish stout, but there is plenty of chocolate and lacto sweetness in there as well. Rich and chocolatey flavor that is creamy throughout and has a roasty coffee finish. Seems a little less robust and a little more thin as it warms, but still pretty impressive.
