On tap at Elevator Brewing Co, Columbus OH, March 2010. MBA (Master of Beer Appreciation) beer for February 2010 - good to find this still available. No ABV stated. Dark red/brown. Not the darkest and not opaque. Beige head. Quite rich mouthfeel. Strong mocha. Not so strong plum. Some dry roasty bitterness. Tasty.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at brewpub. Poured dark brown color with an average creamy nitro brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate dark chocolate aroma. Medium body with a smooth sticky texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy chocolate flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Solid drinkable complex beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a deep brown with a thick tan head. Has a good mocha taste, but I didnít get the plum taste, which is probably a good thing. Really a nice beer overall.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Enjoyed several of this wonderful brew on draft at Yellow Brick Pizza in Columbus. Dark black color, wonderful aroma of roasted malts with just a hint of coffee and fruit, same with the taste- super smooth roasty malts with a hint of coffee and fruit- so sublte that the mocha plum part come across as depth of flavor, not adjuncts. So easy to drink, especially considering the high ABV. I love this beer, if you get a chance give it a try, a true diamond in the rough hiding in central Ohio.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sample at the North Market Microbrew Festival on 09/12/2009. The beer is a flat black color with a thin light beige head that disappears quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of chocolate malt and dark fruit. Medium, smooth body with flavors of milk chocolate, mild coffee and plum. The finish is somewhat roasty with a mildly bitter coffee aftertaste. The plum flavor is subtle but it is there. Interesting and pretty good overall.
