Draft sampler at the Elevator. Deep amber pour with a moderate white head that lasted and had good lacing. Medium toasted sweet aroma. Light body. Light sweet toasted malt flavor with a moderate finish. Smooth drinkable brew.

Sample at the brewpub - Pours bright amber with a creamy offwhite head. Aromas of toffee, caramel, and a little dough. Flavor is one dimensional malty. but that one dimension is pretty tasty. Toasted malts, caramel, and a touch of light german hops on the finish but not much. Palate was buttery and medium bodied.

From notes: Malty flavor and smooth flavor. Easy drinkning but uninspiring.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Gunshy (479) - Ohio, USA - NOV 24, 2002
This beer was a reddish amber color and had a small, bubbly white head that left a small amount of lace. The aroma was lightly of hops and malt. The flavor was of malt and caramel. The finish was medium, with elements of the caramel, and tangy. Not a bad beer.

A little too sweet for my taste. At first I was like, “wow, this is really good”. And then by the third sip I had to switch with Dogbrick because it was just too sweet to finish.

UPDATED: MAR 8, 2006 Rerate 3/07/06: This is the March selection in Elevator’s "MBA" program. Pours amber/orange with a medium thin off-white head and thin spotty lacing. Lots of malt and caramel in the nose. Medium-bodied with a nice smoothness. Sweet malt flavor is still pretty one-dimensional. There are just enough hops to keep it from being overly sweet. The finish is straightforward malt and lasts pretty well. Score remains the same.
6/03/02 (3.4): This used to be my favorite Elevator offering, but the last time I had it, the malty flavor was almost sickengly sweet by the time I got to the end of the glass. That aside, this is still a good beer, but I would suggest keeping it to one glass. Nice amber color and medium head with good lacing. Sweet, malty aroma.
