3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 kjc51478 (361) - Cologne, GERMANY - APR 30, 2013
16oz Draught from brewpub. Appearance is hazy, orange color with medium, off-white head. Aroma is weak, especially for an IPA, with some slight notes of passion fruit, grapefruit, and orange. Taste is heavy malt, cereals, sweet malts, some fruity hop bitterness but not predominant. Palate is medium-bodied, smooth texture, thin carbonation, and a dry finish. The hop profile of this beer was disappointing for an IPA. A decent beer in its own right but didn’t measure up to the style.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 fiveacestx (351) - Texas, USA - FEB 26, 2013
Bottle - has a dirty murky look to it with a rising head and eventually some lacing. Has an earthy hop taste but unfortunately also had another taste...like weeds or leaves or something of that nature.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 sfontain (673) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - DEC 19, 2012
12 oz bottle, Whole Foods Columbus. Orange-gold pour; very nice looking beer with a frothy head that persists all the way down the glass; just a tad fizzy-looking under that head so deducting 1. Aroma mostly floral, grassy hops, caramel; the fruit is lost in the pine. Flavor is on the sharp side of bitter but -just- reigned in enough to be pretty good; bready malt; just the slightest hint of warmth in the swallow. Medium body; frothy, smooth. This is surprisingly pretty good and one of Elevator’s better beers.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 JStax (1671) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - DEC 7, 2012
Poured from a 12 ounce bottle. Pours a copper to gold color with a white head of foam. The aroma is pine, citrus, and grapefruit. Taste is more toward the bitter side of things with just a slight fruity presence. All things considered, not too bad.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 nuplastikk (3286) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 7, 2012
12oz bottle. Slightly hazy orange-tan body with a frothy, steady white head. Lemony sweet alcohol tinged aroma. A pretty big, well hopped IPA, certainly above par in the brewpub landscape. Some island fruits lost among the piny action. Caramel, toffee, golden malt. Pretty respectable stuff.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Sheerbrewing (117) - Athens-Columbus, Ohio, USA - OCT 20, 2012
from a bott;e pours a medium clear pale gold with a thick slightly off white head. Aroma is mild spicy hop with lots of clean ale yeast. Flavor has a lot of sweet malt and the hops have a spicy bitterness and again more clean ale yeast like the aroma would suggest. Over all this beer is a drinkable IPA it is balanced with a different hop character thats worth a try.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 phaleslu (4451) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 4, 2012
12 oz. bottle. Pours a cloudy, dull amber color with an off-white head that settles into an uneven film while lacing the glass. Aroma of caramel malts, leafy hops, brown sugar, and apples. The flavor is the same. Light-medium bodied, with a sweet, bitter mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Decent IPA but doesn’t drink easily.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 blackflag321 (312) - Lansing, Michigan, USA - JUN 24, 2012
Not real hoppy or bitter, but a nice variation on the IPA. I thought of it as a robust American Pale Ale.
3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 agl108 (658) - Upper St. Clair, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 1, 2012
12 oz. bottle. Poured hazy orange with a mild amount of hop sediment swirling in the glass. Eggshell white head. Sweet, lightly floral nose. Flavor of sweet malts, caramel, biscuits, pine, and grapefruit. Piney and citrus flavors are fairly subdued. Medium bodied. Pretty unremarkable.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 steelhead3686 (185) - Athens, Ohio, USA - MAR 20, 2012
UPDATED: APR 2, 2012 I had this on tap at Elevator’s Brewery and Drought Haus on 3/7/12. It Pours a clear copper with a small white head. There is a aroma of hops but it is not very strong. The taste is medium in bitterness. It has a medium body with a quick bitter finish. This is nothing special. I am not sure if it was the batch I got but it was had almost no aroma and there was not much to the beer at all.
Had this again from the bottle on 4/2/12 and it had a much better hops aroma of herbs and flowers. I was more of an amber color than copper. It is a bit more bitter from the bottle. Other than those two things this beer still is not that good.
