A bigger cousin of the English Pale, India Pale Ales were originally brewed with extra alcohol and lots of hops, both of which served to preserve the beer on the long voyage from England to the colony. Dry hopped with a distinct floral essence.

2/21/14. Single bottle. Home. Michelle. Just do not like this beer. The floral aroma is okay but not really a fan of the smell. Tastes like "flat" hops, which I guess is similar to what a "flat" sods tastes like. Would only drink of it were free. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz. bottle from my Secret Santa, umich03jm. Thanks man! Pours a hazed orange with a medium white head. Aroma of citrus and pine hops. Apparent booze and malt sweetness. Flavor is medium bitterness with some boozy sweetness. Medium bodied, with slightly below average carbonation. Finishes with sweetness and bitterness.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a hazy orange with a thick white head. Aroma of caramel and pale malts, grapefruit, jam, light fruits. Flavor of pale bready malts, light fruits, jam, earthy hops, floral hops, with a bitter finish. Light, fruity, not terribly hoppy but gets the job done. 7/4/8/4/14 (3.7/5)

Good beer. Not a great IPA but a good one. Taste of little hops. Good look but little lacing. Good brew.

This is a really good IPA from Columbus. Itís a perfectly clear orange with a medium head of white bubbles and some decent rings of lace. The noise is bold and bright with loads of hops--mostly pine with an undertone of peaches. Flavor is nice and crisp too--though there is a roughness to the earthy bitter finish. Itís a little sweet but still dry enough to be drinkable and a really tasty beer overall.

Aroma is toast, biscuit and honey malt with pear and apple esters, pine and citrus hops. Flavor is moderate hops and bitterness, light malt and fruity esters with a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Draft at the Ohio University Inn. Clear golden yellow color, tiny white head. Aroma has lots of citrus. Taste is lemon and tropical fruit. Not bad.

Pours golden with a nice gravelly head. Aroma is very malty with an undertone of apricot. Taste is sweet over ripe pear along with strong malt and floral presence. There is bitterness as well but feels apart in some way. Medium body and carbonation, fairly smooth. Overall I am still unsure as to whether or not I like this one. Interesting to say the least.

@ Champís in Columbus OH. Clear medium amber with a frothy white head that slowly drops to a full head cover, porous full cover of lace. Taste is caramel malt that grows neatly through the palate. Midway, a strong jab of hops deliver a shot, but then yield enough for the malt to join in through the finish. Solid taste on both sides, excellent with food.
