12 ounce bottle, a cool snowman on the label. Pours a dark copper color with a medium beige head. A sweet caramel and spiced candy nose. The flavor is very nice; sweet caramel, light apricot, some spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg, nothing too huge. Smooth and tasty.

This brew pours a clear brown with a medium caramel head. It has an intresting spice smell that I can’t quite place. I think it might be somewhere between chiles/peppers and some other, less spice-like vegetable. Decent bitter taste with a nice sweet/sour balance that isn’t too overwhelming. A light to medium body with a lasting finish that leves you wanting more. This is a winter brew that I will revisit again and again.

Bottle. Medium amber, transparent, smallish head. Aroma is ginger, vanilla, nutmeg, sugar cane and caramel. This seems kinda like a holiday spiced English strong ale. Pretty sweet with a little bit of bitterness in the finish. Sort of a funny aftertaste. Full mouthfeel. Decent holiday ale.

Served on tap at Dewey’s Pizza. If you like spicey winter beers, this will be good. Pours a caramel brown with an off white head. The spice taste is fairly pronounced and has a warming alcohol taste at the end. I don’t know the ABV but I’m assuming its aroun 7%. I taste ginger and cinnamon. This has a roasty, Toffee like malt taste through out which is
complemented well by the spice. A very good winter beer.

Ugh. A very strong clove aroma and taste. Overwhelming and unpleasant.
Poured a murky brown with a small whitish head.

On tap at Elevator. Out of the 12 beers I tried, this on was my favorite. A truly nice winter warmer. Aroma was outstanding. Ginger bread and vanilla wafers. Flavor was cinnamon, gingerbread, caramel, black pepper. Sooo much going on here it was like a Christmas party in my mouth, but I loved it. Alcohol presence was pretty noticeable on this on.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Dogbrick (4842) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - DEC 27, 2009
Several mugs from a 5g keg, and my 400th Ohio beer. The beer is a mostly clear brown-amber color with a medium foamy beige head that diminishes steadily. Spice and malt in the nose. Medium body with flavors of sweet malt and spices, piney hops and a bit of fruit. The finish is sweetly spiced wit a mild hoppy aftertaste. Decent overall.
