COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

33cl bottle. Thin creamy white head. Clear light amber pour. It’s an ok amber but doesn’t stand out from the crowd.

skortila (5108) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - OCT 7, 2014
Bottle from Carrefour Aywaille. Full 33cl sample. The aroma has strong caramel, bit biscuity malts, some oranges, bit clove. Hazy, orange coloured beer with an off-white, thin head. The taste is light bitter, light-moderate sweet, has some fruitiness, caramel, some toffee. Relative dry finish. Actually prretty nice.

Alengrin (4148) - BELGIUM - AUG 15, 2014
Strong amber from a young and sympathetic Wallonian beer company, apparently brewed at Val-Dieu. Thin, milky white head, pure ’clean’ amber colour. Aroma of nut-like malts, red apples, caramel, curaçao but unfortunately faint hints of DMS (red cabbage) and H2S (sulphur) as well. Light fruity taste, dryish with mellow caramel maltiness, somewhat thin mouthfeel and insufficient hop bitterness in the finish, a bit ’empty’. More work needs to be done to lift this up, but I am confident these people will manage to do that and I am determined to keep following these beers.

Benzai (12353) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - MAR 20, 2014
Bottle shared @ weekly tasting. Clear golden color, average sized white to off-white head. Smell and taste malts, sweetness, apple juice, slightly herbs or spices. Average body, medium carbonation. Decent beer, but doesn’t look like an ambree imo.
