[Cask hnndpull at Back of Beyond, Reading] Deep gold with a small lasting white head. One long, crisp, refreshing taste of earthy bitterness. No complexity here, but it’s none the worse for it - this is a decent if simple bitter.

Cask at the Kingston Arms, Cambridge. Gold with a thin white head; malt aroma; thin at first but then developing a rich chewy grainy malt body with some orangey fruit; the finish is dry and bitter; seeming to leave a barley sugar after taste - or am I imagining it?

Oct, 2008 JDW, Rochester Pale orange - cloudy and with sour notes. Barmaid had said it would be cloudy, but I thought that would be due to beer being put on too quickly. This beer is slightly infected - however, it’s a pleasant mild tartness that works well, giving a feeling of a wheat beer. OK, but not exciting.

Cask handpull at JDW, Folkestone. It’s a tasty premium bitter. Really fresh. Lovely toffee malt and good harsh hop finish. This is pretty good. Nice beer.

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Gold with a small white head. Sweet malt aroma. Malty taste, the sweetness rather candied. A curious papery backtaste. Some bitterness. Rather straightforward, but no less acceptable for that.

A Mes rate: Cask at Quinns. Traslucent golden brown with a slight white head. Mildly hoppy aroma with a little sweaty feet. Straight forward hoppy flavour with a bitter finish, Dull and uninspiring.

Blackfriers. Even after 3 days of rackting still slighrtly hazy. Aroma is honey and flopural sweetness is noteable. TRaste is far more balanced and min imal, not too much going on the the %
