Cask; Regular.
First brewed to mark the Fens Pageant in 1994, the recipe was used to mark the Bi-centenary of the North Brink Brewery. It is now a permanently available brew with an abv of 4.3%. Brewed with well-roasted malts & generous amounts of English hops, for a satisfying finish. The use of Wheat malt as well as finest Pale maris Otter malt results in a full rich malty flavour. Challenger hops give good depth to the bitter finish of the beer.

Gravity poured during the CAMRA AGM in Norwich on 20 Apr 2013. Rich dark amber body with a weak off-white head. The whole beer is malt laden with only a mild hop content: semi-sweet and leaning towards a toffee and caramel flavour, the smell, the same. Slight nutty hints within the taste also. Medium bodied and easy to drink: nothing spectacular but a fine beer.

Cask (?, Cambridge) - this can’t be the right beer, it had this name, but a very different pump clip
Rich roasty winter warmer. Mellow, and drinkability very high. Very nice. Anna thought it was only worth 3.2, but she should get her own account.

Cask@The Bulls Head, Ratby. Bronze beer with a strong foamy off white head. The aroma is hopped and mildly toffee, and the flavour mildly bitter with a toffee finish. Overall a reasonable toffee and hopped bitter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cask@Market Porter, London. Ambery brown colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is nutty, mild caramel and crystal malts along with some wooden and mild fruityness. Flavour is rather similar with some mild toffeeish notes as well. Quite nicely bodied.

Draught at the Bricklayers Arms, Putney, 8th April 2011. Brown with no head. Sweet nose of bread and cake. Strong toffee malt flavour, not great, especially the finish and malty aftertaste. I just didn’t like this.

First tasted this in the Bull Inn, Paisley in October 1997. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear garnet red in colour with a thin creamy off white head. Hint of toffee in the short nose. Thin mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts give a digestive biscuit note with caramel. Slight hint of sweet dates in this. Good dusty hop flowers present in the bitter aftertaste. Finish is bitter sweet with malt just edging it at the end. An ok session bitter.

2nd pint - Light fruity aroma, amber colour with a tan head. Taste is quite fruity and bitter. Fairly run of the mill stuff however. Not very interesting, so couldn’t recommend this one. Probably marked this down because first pint was all acidic sediment left from the bottom of the cask. Complained and got a new pint as above.

On cask at the 26th Annual Folk Festival in Ely. A dark orange colour with a thin white head. Aroma of caramel and flavour of sweet treacle. Thinly masked alcohol. A bit musty and heavy.

UPDATED: NOV 11, 2009 Elgoods Pageant Cask conditioned handpump RHTS Rushden. An amber to chestnut coloured beer with a whitish head and lacing. The aroma is fruity with a little off notes. The taste is better with a good fruity base and some sour and toffee flavours behind the malts. Could be better. Score 2.5
Subsequent rating scored 3.4. Average becomes 2.9
