2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 RichardGretton (3759) - - DEC 29, 2002
Appearance of a brown lemonade, and accompanied by a weak and watery aroma. The flavour is better with chocolate and coffee hints. Overall a reasonable beer, but there are plenty better.

5,2% on the label. No head. Just a bit of apple in the aroma. Walnut flavor with just a bit of soap. Plastic. Fairly thin. Disappointing.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 ante (3375) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JAN 14, 2005
(Cask-conditioned at Oliver Twist, Stockholm) Hazy brown, few head. Sweet coffee and resiny hops in aroma. Raisin, mint and herbs in flavour with sweet undertones of toffee, butter and sweet coffee. Earthy finish, hints of fir.

UPDATED: DEC 28, 2004 Cask conditioned at Akkurat, Stockholm.
Mahogany colour. Appetizing, fruity cherry aroma. Dry with rounded mouthfeel, notes of tobacco. Some disturbing vegetables in the finish. Medium bitterness. This beer is like Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 jbrus (4990) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - DEC 13, 2004
Typical almost acidic aroma and a bit dusty as well. Amber/golden color, off-white head, fair lace. Sweet, mainly bitter leaning towards acidic, little fruity. Thick, syrupy and a little dry in the finish. Clean, boring. Note: my bottle said 5.2% instead of the 5.9% here.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Sully (1378) - Potts Point, New South Wales, AUSTRALIA - DEC 10, 2004
UPDATED: DEC 11, 2004 Cask at the Jeremy Beatham. The first thing you notice about this pub is that when you sit outside (a must given the overly smoky interiors of London pubs the refelction of the last name spells ’Mantiev’ in the cyrillic alphabet. Don’t know that there is such a Russian word but I thought you would all like to know that. This has a deep copper hue and really nice creamy head that keeps a fine lace all the way down the glass. The nose is rich a malty with some toffee and sherry like overtones. Ditto the flavour which has a clean sherry like flavour underscored by the said toffee. The bitterness is spot on. My only concern about this is when I belch I get a distinctive garlic and meaty presence, more to do with the kebab at lunch perhaps. I think this was well presented and well balanced, better than any of the other Christmas beers sampled thus far.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 jerohen (1793) - Bussum, NETHERLANDS - NOV 26, 2004
Clear orange coloured, nice lacing. Spicy and malty aroma, quite nice. Easy to drink beer.
