2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cask Conditioned handpump Wig & Pen Northampton. A yellow gold coloured beer with a white head and lacing. A sweet bitter with a bit of caramel in the nose. Floral notes in the mouth. There is some body but the flavours are all a bit wishy washy.

Gravicask (Cambridge Winter Ale Festival 2010)
Minerally aroma. Phil also gets blossoms. Honey comes through later. Goldish. Mushrooms in the taste, a little chalky. But again, thereís a honey aspect that comes through. Simple session beer.

Cask (gravity dispense). Beer #9 at Cambridge Winter Beer Festival on 21 January 2011. Not sure what the Whittlesey Straw Beer festival is but, without having seen the commercial description in advance, I was half expecting something involving strawberry. Or maybe straw in colour. Actually more of an old gold colour. Decent, lively condition. Dry, with some citrus notes. Easy drinking. Respectable enough but not particularly exciting.
