Bottle. Golden brown with an off white head. Aromas are caramel, toffee and honey with toast. Stewed pear with brown sugar. Floral aspects with lemon and traces of herbal liquorice. Flavours are stewed apple and pear with toffee and weetabix. Green apple with a fruity, earthy, spicy finish. Decent.

Bottle at home in London with Lyoli. Pours a lightly hazy, dark gold with a tight, foamy head. Some tangy, toasty malts in the nose with hints of ripe berries. Medium sweet flavor with toasty bread, alcohol, light leafy bitterness, some ripe fruit. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet finish with dusty, toasty malts, a bit of booze, dirt and leaves, some fruit. It’s OK. Perhaps a little old, but still alright.

Bottle. It pours a clear, amber body and a small, dense, off-white head. Quite alcoholic on the nose, with toffee and some anise, as well as dark dried fruits and some hops. Toffee, bitterness, anise notes and a metallic touch in the flavor. Full-bodied, warming and semi-dry. Lasting bitterness in the end. I find it a bit unbalanced, but it’s quite tasteful and nice anyway. 111127
