COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Special - April 2011 (Royal Wedding).

Windsor Knot contains a blend of Maris Otter and Flagon Pale Ale malt, the Flagon grown on the Royal Estate, Sandringham and an English Hop variety called Sovereign, which was bred in the 50th year of the Queen’s accession to the throne. Honey flavour is used in the recipe to compliment and prime the beer for sweetness – the perfect wedding ale!

Cask (gravity dispense) at Reading Beer Festival on 28 April 2011. Bright old gold colour. Very good condition. Biscuity aroma. Slightly sweet but quite fresh and fruity on the palate. Maybe a bit unspectacular but rather pleasant and certainly one of the better Royal Wedding beers I tried.

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Not to be confused with the beer of the same name from the Windsor & Eton Brewery. Amber with a small white head. Pleasant fruity aroma with a trace of pear drop. Sweet taste with a mid bitter finish. Simple and inoffensive, as you’d expect from a special of this sort. I am sure casual drinkers will find this acceptable.
