Cask at The Cresent, Salford. A brown beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, toffee, and nuts, leading to a dry, bitter, and toffee finish.

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Dark amber with a small off white head. Faint earthy underarm malt aroma, not particularly promising. The taste is much better: sweet, hairy bready malt. Some bitterness. Very good.

Clear medium amber orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, sour malt, sour butter, rubber. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. [20090123]

Bow Bar Edinburgh... brown nice tight tan head ... sweetb malt nose ... sweet and fruity ... quite hoppy ... light bitter linger.
