Keg at Bat. Dark brown black, thin beige head. Definite soft fruity tea, soft dark chocolate, big liquorice, lightly herbal, soft pine perhaps. Lovely and inviting. Soft dark.chocolate malts, light tea again, soft roast, pine hops, very clean, lovely long chocolatey roast finish, and just a hint of tannin. Light-bodied palate, but amazing depth of flavour. Utterly superb. An imperial version please????

Tap at bat. Blackish with tan head. Roasty aroma, toasty with a distinct tea aroma. Similar taste with a slight fruitiness, a fine balance of tea and roasted malt. Medium bodied with a dry tea finish. Delish

Bottle at home on Hogmany 2012 ... for my Ratebeer 10K ... deep black ... HUGE HUGE foam tan head ... dark chocolate roast ..lightest smoke nose... dark roast ... huge fizz ... roast chocolate malts ... sweet toffee roast ... mellow and smooth .. This would easyily have been 4.0 if not for being a little over fizzy

Bottle at Craig’s. Pours hazy dark brown. Smoked tea aromas, oats there too. Toasty on the taste. High carbonation prickle. Good stuff though.

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Unclear very dark reddish brown with a big and lasting beige head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, chocolate and tea. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. Cheers, Craig. 120113

Bottle 330ml.

[ Trade by cgarvieuk ]. Clear dark brown colour, speaking, with a large, frothy, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, nutty, chocolate, grass, light wood. Some odd thing in the aroma - maybe it is oat. Flavour is moderate to light light heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, fizzy, dark fruit, dark malt, tea bitter, oat acidic notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft and fizy. Thanks Craig, very grateful you did passing this beer on, Cheers Craig and well done on you 10K milestone. [20130112]

Bottle @tasting. Pours brown hazy almost cloudy. Tea (smoky) and spices on the nose, its a nice smelling beer, better than the taste. It’s a bit meh on the palate, light and just not great, a wee bit of a disappointment after the smell.
