COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Much like the local icon it is named for, our version of the popular American Pale Ale has a bold character. Derived from a generous use of premium 2-row Pale malt, we add a healthy addition of hops both in the kettle and the finishing tank.

Draught at the brewpub. Pours hazy amber with fluffy beige head. The aroma is raw juicy grapefruit and herbal tea. The flavor is sweet red grapefruit, red tea. It finishes with a slight bitterness, but is quite mild overall.

Pours from tap golden with a slight head that doesn’t leave any lacing. Not a lot of hoppiness or bitterness either on the nose or the tongue. I get a faint hint of hop flavor on the finish.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear orange with a thick foamy white head. Aroma of caramel malt, iced tea, light fruit, jam. Flavor of sweet jam and fruits, toasted malt, caramel malt, and grassy hops. A very nice pale ale, superbly drinkable. 7/4/8/4/14 [3.7/5]

On tap at Mad Mex. Dark gold. Bit of grapefruit in the nose. Malty palate, sugar daddy, nice, a bit on the light side but good.

FROTHINGSLOSH (3388) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 23, 2008
Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured an orange-amber color with a medium sized yellow-white head. The aroma was faint fruity hops. The flavor was nutty and bitter with a light fruity and floral hop undertone and a touch of pine. the finish was long and bitter. The body was a bit smoother than I would have expected. Ok.

aroma is floral and citrussy hops on top of a bready malt. nice aroma. flavor however was bland and I think obscured by the nitro, which also ruined the body. english flavors come out with some biscuity notes and mild bitterness and hop character. This would probably be a good cask beer, and better on C02 than nitrogen. rather okay

On tap at the brewpub. Fast fading lacy white head, leaving a sticky sheet intact on top of a golden pour. Clear. Aroma is a fantastic swirl cascade pine hops, sticky resins, and sweet orange blossom. Flavor moves similar with loads of Centennial and/or Cascade. Very Balsam fir orange flavored. Surprisingly light on the carbonation. Flavor fades pretty quickly, but the beer doesn’t come across as thin. Fresh outdoor feel. Crisp, as is demanded of the style. Nice. Airy.

kramer (3457) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 27, 2008
On tap, at brewpub. Pours a slightly hazy light copper body with a small off-white head. The nose is slightly toasty and crackery malt with a mild hop nose. The flavor is a little bland, with just a light bitterness and slightly grainy malt base. It’s just a little too thin and bland overall. Moderate fizzy carbonation with a rather short finish. Overall, not something that really stood out, and probably my next to least favorite of the 6 on tap that day. Still, pretty far from offensive, which is a pretty good sign from a new brewpub that a 3.2 was the near worst I had.

Dark golden amber orange color. A good mix of cereal grain and oat malt and some wet, slightly caramely hops, both in the nose and also tasted. Slightly vegetal (but not in a bad way), and turning just slightly sour in the finish, with some greenish leafy hop notes. From the malts I pick up what I would best describe as a Cracklin’ Oat Bran note: cerealy, husky, but fresh. A good pale ale, overall.
