UPDATED: OCT 28, 2009 On tap at the brewpub. Nose is heavy in grasses and brass. Lots of metallic hop oils. Obviously fresh, but maybe of a hop variety that isn’t the most desirable. This really smells green. Pours a golden-orange, very hazed, a la many harvest-examples of this style, as this is. Flavor is generally fresh, but then really grows into an acidic metal monster. There’s a sense of some cleaning solution. Again, this really reads like somebody finishes this beer with a bunch of hops that nobody likes. Galena? Horizon? Ahthanum? It’s just hops used in the wrong way. Not bitter, just harsh and biting. Not a lot of the fresh, juicy refreshing hop flavor I want. Malt holds up, but it’s too late. Finishes dry, at least.

FROTHINGSLOSH (3388) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 17, 2010
Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a dark caramel color with a medium sized beige head that lingered and produced good lacing. The aroma was strong grapefruit and lemon. The flavor was very bitter with a strong sharp grapefruity presence and notes of floral hops and lemon. There was a faint undertone of nut and caramel but this beer was very hop forward. The finish was very long, bitter and tart with grapefruit lingering. Moderately full bodied. Very nice.

3fourths (6403) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - OCT 25, 2008
draft at the brewery. Gazed medium orange/brown. Fresh and green celery-sweet hop nose, sugared and fruity. Flavor is apples and pears, sweet and green, some mint and thyme. Not bad, seems like a fall ipa, some squash I guess in the whole veggie character.
