Draft during Saturday lunch during Campground Brewdown. Poured a medium to thinner black body with a smaller foamy light beige head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, hint of cream, roasty overall. Medium body with stronger tight small bubble carbonation and a lingering burnt aftertaste. Flavor is super roasty, notes of burnt toast, coffee grounds and bitter dark chocolate. really nice.

2015-08-15. Black body with a modest tan head. 3+ Aroma of roast, undercurrents of fruit and something odd I can’t put my finger on. 6+ Flavour is a bit odd, dark roast has an almost ashen rough bitterness to it in the finish. Sweetish dark malt core. Smooth average plus bodied palate, moderate carbonation. On tap at Elk Creek Cafe, Millheim, PA.

Tap at EC, 5.8% abv, dark brown/black, tan lacing head. Sweet and heavily jammy-fruity nose – tons and tons of berry – with little roast. Smooth feel, medium body, super sultry, good thick malt for a porter/stout with gentle but coating roast that seeps over the tongue like the most satisfying coffee you’ve ever had. Off-dry, some chocolate, also some interesting smoky notes in the deep finish. I could drink gallons of this stuff, just awesome!

Transfer from BA reviewed on 1-29-12 - Had on tap in pint glass at brew pub. Appearance – A dark colored brew. Not pitch black, but just a few shades below it. It has a billowy off white head which slowly fades after time. Smell – Roasted woody malt, cocoa and a bit of nut are present. Some hop and a bit of carmel work their way in toward the end of the aroma. Taste – Coffee with a slight amount of nuttiness. A sweetened chocolate and a bit of caramel work their way in with a bit of bready maltiness toward the end. Mouthfeel –The creaminess in the mouthfeel is a bit more then expected from the appearance. I was expecting something a bit thinner; a nice surprise. The carbonation however was a bit low which took away from the mouthfeel a bit. Overall – A nice porter and with a bit more carbonation and possibly a bit more bitterness in flavor it would have been quite fantastic.

I’m not feeling this one. Has some faint maltiness on the nose and it pours very dark brown with a light brown head. Not a big flavor profile on the tongue. Finishes clean.
