Awesome milk chocolate aroma, some coffee when swirled. jet black, tiny tan head. creamy body, more chocolate, smooth robust peaty body, cocoa everywhere.

Black bodied with an ok head. Rather interesting profile of a stout blended with a root beer. A swirling confusion of flavors and body. Sweet, root beer nose, vanillin and roast barley in the body. Doesn’t quite adequately coalesce. Worth a second tasting.

Nose is full of chocolate, some dark black malts, a touch of roast, but nice and sweet. Very pleasant. Pours dark brown, more or les black with a thin beige/tan head. Sweet chocolate up front and throughout with notes of complimentary roast. A touch of caramel as well. Smooth and drinkable with medium carbonation. THis was really nice.

draft at the brewery. this beer is actually called black stag and is 6.5%. must send an email. dark ebony brownish black with a surging, creamy tan head. beautiful sheets of lace. big roasty, chocolatey nose. very, very creamy medium body. chocolate comes roaring out right away, followed by toast, nuts, and vanilla on the mid palate. god, this is a sweet and delicious stout. long chocolatey finish.

Really weird that this place has very few ratings, yet fakepurseninja was there today too, or at least putting his ratings in today? This is an impressive stout...probably my favorite of the beers I tried there. Sits on oak chips for a while, and you can tell. Lots of roasted grain flavor. Definite vanilla and nuttiness from the oak chips. Today, they were also serving this through their "Hop Back", which has hops and woodchips shoved into a water filter hooked up to the keg. Sweetened it and increased the bitterness, but I prefered the regular stout. This brewery was a very nice surprise!

Very nice stout - flavor was way too difficult to determine but there was a lot of earthy flavors, maybe some dark chocolate/cocoa taste. Slight sweet berry essense. Very enjoyable and smooth. Dark as the new moon.
