Cask@26th Burton upon Trent Beer Festival. Very black beer with a strongly coffee aroma and a strong, dry and very coffee like flavour. Overall a nice dry coffee tasting beer.

Chocolate, malty, roasty, lightly sulfury, chewy, coffee-like aroma draws you in. Clear, darkest mahogany body with ruby tones. No head. Chocolate and intensely roasty malt flavour with some notes of soy, liquorice. Medium-light body with no carbonation. Cask on gravity pour at GBBF 2005.

Cask at GBBF 2005 Dark brown. Tar and chewy malt on nose, liquorice, burnt malt in mouth. Very tarry with a thick finish. Re-rate. Cask handpull at Ship & Mitre, Liverpool. Wonderful beer. Black beer, thin dark beige head. Deep flavours, incredible aroma of dark malts, charcoal and some dark fruit. Full and velvety in mouth if a tad sour with long finish. Excellent beer . Some sour dark plum/damson fruit

Nose is chocolate/coffee, deep brown, hints of red at the edge of the glass. Nice tasting mix of treacle, coffee and chocolate. Medium bodied, dry finish, and bitter. Really good beer. I wish I could say who shared this?

Cask@Kingston Beer Festival, London. This was the first beer i tried at the festival. Quite a rich one to start off on. Very rich roasted and bitter, with some dark chocolate, mocha and aniseed. Very long roasted bitter finish. Nice one.

[Cask at Volunteers Arms, GBBF 2004] A red-brown beer with no head. The aroma is very sweet with notes of caramel, roasted coffee, and chocolate. The flavor is of roasted malt, coffee, and alcohol.
