Dark brown. Tar and chewy malt on nose, liquorice, burnt malt in mouth. Very tarry with a thick finish.

Cask handpull at Ship & Mitre, Liverpool. Wonderful beer. Black beer, thin dark beige head. Deep flavours, incredible aroma of dark malts, charcoal and some dark fruit. Full and velvety in mouth if a tad sour with long finish. Excellent beer

This was the first beer i tried at the festival. Quite a rich one to start off on. Very rich roasted and bitter, with some dark chocolate, mocha and aniseed. Very long roasted bitter finish. Nice one. Ungstrup (14758), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 20, 2005 [Cask at Volunteers Arms, GBBF 2004] A red-brown beer with no head. The aroma is very sweet with notes of caramel, roasted coffee, and chocolate. The flavor is of roasted malt, coffee, and alcohol.
