Cask at GBBF 2011, Day 2. This beer really did it for me. Pours dark brown with a bubbly, tan head. Rich cocoa nose, some roasted malt. Delicious flavor, rich and well-rounded dark cocoa, brown sugar, great roastiness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Light warming finish, light smoke, dark roast, dry mocha. Really great.

Scopey (11555) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 8, 2011
Cask at GBBF 2011. It pours opaque black, with a decent bubbly light tan head. The nose is varnish, cardamom, sage, earth, coffee and lots of roasted malt. The taste is sweet caramel, roasted malt, coffee, salted liquorice, pepper, spice, astringency, burnt malt and bitter chocolate, with a dry-roasty finish. Full body and soft carbonation. A tasty porter.

On tap at the Great British Beer Festival 2011. Very dark and plesant looking but the head is short-lived. Nice, light roast with a bit of coffee. Leaves a coffee aftertaste. Light chocolatey aroma, with hints of coffee. Not elite but it hits the spot.
