3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
[cask at the Bow Bar, Edinburgh] Clear golden pour with a large, tight white head from the Aitken fount. Aroma is pretty caramel-sweet for an APA, there’s toffee and alcohol there with a little grassy hop. The flavours are very similar – a Yorkshire interpretation of an APA, more a strong malty bitter than a Pale Ale. Still, it’s a nice beer to drink, which at the end of the day is all that matters

2.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Hand pulled at the Jolly Crispin, Gornal. Cloudy, with yellow cream top. Burnt rubber smell - uh oh. A bit of rubber in that taste too. Quite harsh, dry and sweet; but dry finish eases slightly. Could be worse.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On cask at The Bow Bar. A blonde ale with a thin white head. Aroma of caramel and barley with alcohol fairly present. Similar flavours with a nice grainy flavour also. Grassy hop finish. Nicely bitter.
