3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
[cask at the Bow Bar, Edinburgh] Clear golden pour with a large, tight white head from the Aitken fount. Aroma is pretty caramel-sweet for an APA, there’s toffee and alcohol there with a little grassy hop. The flavours are very similar – a Yorkshire interpretation of an APA, more a strong malty bitter than a Pale Ale. Still, it’s a nice beer to drink, which at the end of the day is all that matters

At the tap in York. Nice, smooth ipa but lacks the hoppiness and flavour of others...

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask in Arcadia, Headingly. Golden with a nice creamy white head. A bit of a weird tasting beer. There’s a caramel malt base with hop notes of citrus and a little pine. Something distinctly meaty in the background. Not bad overall.

2.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Hand pulled at the Jolly Crispin, Gornal. Cloudy, with yellow cream top. Burnt rubber smell - uh oh. A bit of rubber in that taste too. Quite harsh, dry and sweet; but dry finish eases slightly. Could be worse.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On cask at The Bow Bar. A blonde ale with a thin white head. Aroma of caramel and barley with alcohol fairly present. Similar flavours with a nice grainy flavour also. Grassy hop finish. Nicely bitter.
