Previously Known as Best Bitter
Elland Blonde is a dry and aromatic beer made with Maris Otter Pale malt and a blend of English and American Hops. All this goes together to produce a straw coloured beer that is strong on aroma with a pronounced bitter flavour.

Pump clip said Elland Blonde in The Station, Oakengates Shropshire on 2nd Jan 2016, so I had a half for the tick: this was the third and final citrus flavoured golden brew I had in this pub on this occasion. The lemon aroma and taste were subdued or subtle depending on your stance, the malts trying to overpower the citrus hop base nose and flavour. The best of the three I had.

Cask at JDW. As ’Elland White Hart’. Clear dark golden shade. Rings of white head. Notes of candied fruits and straw. Moderately bitter taste with some dryness. A bit heavy for 4% so not the most drinkable but some nice flavours within.

Pale yellow with a small head. It’s pretty much what it says on the pump clip, it’s a fine bitter with a high bitterness and lots of malty-hop character.

Cask, The Sheffield Cathedral Beer Festival. Medium gold, slight haze. Sweet honey and ginger aroma. More ginger and lemon on the first sip, then warm citrus hops. Finish is bright with caramel at the end.

Cask conditioned at Harbury Beer Fest ’11. Clear gold with white head. Crisp, sharp malts wit a rich tea biscuit type character. Reasonable hop notes to balance up quite nicely. A decent sessionable bitter.
